Well it was probably inevitable but I just found out that the latest series of the "reality" TV show (which started last night) has one blind housemate and one partially sighted housemate among its number. I think that means they've covered all the minorities now lol

I wish some of the reality shows here in the U.S. would have blind people. I generally don't watch them but would if I heard of a blind participant.

I think I'd be more inclined to agree with you if it were the case that the people chosen were there with sight-impairment as a factor, not the reason. For example a contestant on "The Apprentice" who works in a mainstream field. With Big Brother you just *know* it's a case of "let's get a blindy in".

I will watch, to see how Michael and Darnell get on and how they interact with the show format, but I bet that they will become the representatives of the blind community among the teenagers that are Big Brother's target demographic lol

In case you're bothered, Michael is a Scottish radio produces in his 30s and Darnell is a British-born American resident who has apparently been deported back to the UK.

Once, for an assignment for a class I can't remember, I came up with a reality show concept where in were to see how had it better. Basically, to see if it was easier for a sighted individual to intigrate themself into the blind community, or the other way around with a blind individual who had very little contact with the sighted world. at the time, it seemed like a brilliant idea. I'd love to see blind people on a show, though.
